Description
ABOV‘s general purpose MCU is a MCU which has general MCU features such as input/output ports, timer, PWM, ADC,.etc.

It is important to choose a proper MCU which is not over specification to save price. Therefore ABOV provides lots of cost-down-version MCUs with a high purfomence MCU.

Core (CPU) type
ABOV's 8 bit MCUs can be classified by it's core. And an operation speed is depand on it's core.
it can be arranged by speed like this:,
High Speed 8051 > RISC > 800, Standard 8051

Memory size and type
ABOV’s General-Purpose MCU has program-code and data memory internally. We divide off naming like this, COMBI / FLASH / OTP / MASK MCU.

- COMBI : It has FLASH memory as program code and EEPROM as data backup memory.
- FLASH : It has FLASH memory only as program code.
- OTP : It has EPROM as code momory. But it is packaged whitout window, Then it can not be reused by ultraviolet eresing. OTP means 'One Time Programming'.
- MASK : It has MASK rom as code memory. It can not change program code after manufacturing. It is used for cost down in massproduction.
Package & I/O pins
According to the MCU and method to use, an input and output port which the utility is possible comes to be different little by little. For example, when we use an utility which we are contained internally.We can use the list of port for this to an input and output list of port. Also when we use a Reset(Power On Reset) circuit which is contained internally. We can use the list of port for this to an input and output(or only input- different according to the MCU) list of port.

Reset (POR, BOR)

- BOR(Brown Out Reset)
/ BOD(Brown Out Detect Reset)

Internal OSC
We say to be containing the Internal OSC internally at the MCU inside. The circuit comes to be simple.And there is the advantage for this which can use the list of port to the input and output. Because We may not organize an eruption circuit at the outside if we use such inside OSC.
Low Power Consumtion
We offer a Low Power Mode which greater part of an ABOV’s 8bit MCU calls STOP MODE. The good development essential facility which this operates to the Battery. It can operate when a schedule hour interval or specific interrupt happened. According to Type of MCU, we offer a Sleep Mode. (We are similar with the STOP MODE. But we operate the timer continuously. And we have the difference to operate by all interrupt.)
